Reformation is a process of transformation that seeks to change the current form or structure of a given situation.

The term “reform” stems from the Latin word “reformare,” which means to shape anew.

This means that in order to reform any aspect of life, a person must be willing to alter their own behaviour in an effort to make the desired changes. At its core, reformation implies a willingness to break out of existing cycles and think outside of traditional parameters. It also necessitates an open-mindedness in approaching different forms of modification and a certain level of resilience when tackling difficult tasks.

At present, there is growing interest around the concept of global reformation – particularly as individuals from various parts of the world increasingly become aware and increasingly engaged with pressing issues such as social injustice, poverty, economical crisis and quality of education. Global reformation ultimately involves seeking new solutions for these problems through collective action – something that can be further achieved by embracing innovative approaches such as cooperative economics, social enterprise models and sustainable development initiatives.

Efforts towards global reformation involve recognising how various systems interact within larger contexts and how individual efforts – when taken together – can lead to meaningful change both locally and internationally. Equipping people with skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking and constructive communication are essential elements in making progress on challenging issues. Education plays an integral role in this process – with policies being implemented around creating educational opportunities so that young learners can gain exposure to different cultures, develop empathy and become civically active citizens.
